Being a mother is no small task, and single mothers face even greater challenges. At Alliance Foundation, we recognize the immense courage and resilience that single moms demonstrate in their efforts to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. We proudly recognize SAFE House as a valued partner in our mission to help people build a path to prosperity by offering a helping hand through our programs focused on food, shelter, and emotional support.
While working alongside SAFE House, we’ve learned about the countless selfless sacrifices made by single mothers every day, especially those who have left abusive relationships to protect their children. We want to express our admiration and appreciation for these incredible women this Mother’s Day.
SAFE House provides safe shelter, advocacy, counseling, and educational services and runs a bi-weekly support group for domestic violence survivors living in the community. We understand that the first few years after leaving an abusive home can be extremely challenging as survivors grapple with managing bills, meeting their children’s needs, and healing from the long-term impacts of trauma.
The peer-to-peer support group offered by SAFE House creates a safe space for survivors to share their experiences and lean on one another. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with SAFE House and are excited to provide a special dinner for the individuals attending this group on Mother’s Day. By showing these survivors that their community cares about and supports them, we hope to reinforce the message that they are never alone in their journey toward healing and prosperity.
