Thank you so much for giving my 8-month-old kitten a place to go while I was staying in the shelter. I was so worried I was going to have to give her away or abandon her in order to move to a safe place and away from my abuser. I was terrified having to leave her at the boarding house, but she has been so well taken care of and is loved by all the kennel staff. Thank you again so much for helping keep her safe as well! <3

WORDS Can not Express how truly grateful I am to have assistance boarding our beloved puppy ####. The thought of leaving her behind in such a toxic environment was something my heart just could not bear. If I knew there was such amazing assistance in this situation I would have left earlier. To some people a dog is just a pet, but to me she is more like a daughter, protector, and ##### a true best friend. She is a survivor along side me and my babygirl. With all the stress and trauma that comes with domestic violence just knowing our girl was ssafe and cared for meant the world to me, and was one less thing my heart had to worry about. The kindness the community has shown us in this hard time is something I will be grateful everyday of my life I am overwhelmed with appreciation and thanks to this wonderful community my baby and purry can continue to grow up together! Thank you. You have no idea the impact this had on our lives.

I am beyond thankful for your servise. My dog ### is our family and would never leave him with anybody who's abusive to him. ### I was really nervous because I couldn't find anybody who would take care of him.

Again, I am very grateful for your servise so I don't have to worry about him while I am going through very hard time of my life.

"The S.A.F.E. House shelter hotline receives approximately 175 crisis calls a month. There has been an increase in the number of callers that need to board their animal. Our partnership with the Alliance foundation has given us the opportunity to board, vaccinate and pay for any food or supplies our clients' pet may need. We recently were able to help a client and her cat leave their abusive home life. When she called, she was confused, scared, and felt she had nowhere to go.   After arriving at the shelter, the staff drove the client and her cat to an animal hospital in Henderson where the cat received wonderful care and attention. The client was able to have a good rest that night knowing that her cat was taken care of. Since we have had the support from the Alliance foundation, we are now able to help more survivors of domestic violence and their pets get the help and support they need to be safe."

"Being a S.A.F.E. House Inc. employee has brought such joy to my life. Over the past few years, I have had the great pleasure of being of service to the members of our community. Helping them to overcome obstacles that are a direct result of intimate partner domestic violence. One such obstacle is a clients need to maintain their beloved pet while fleeing a DV relationship. Knowing that a client won’t have to choose between leaving their pet, or leaving their abuser brings everyone great relief. Being able to provide clients with gifts above and beyond essentials is the highlight of our day, and theirs. To see a clients face light up when presented with a Mother’s day gift, or birthday gift cannot be put into words."

This is the text message received from one of our survivors after receiving a Thanksgiving bag. (See below) After sending the text, she mentioned she didn’t plan much for Thanksgiving before receiving the bag. She had only planned to make turkey, cookies and decorate them with her children. She was so excited!

From a mother with four children:

The family was so excited when they were told about this opportunity, as they were not planning on having Thanksgiving this year."God Bless! Thank you so much for this. This couldn't have come at a better time."

From a domestic violence survivor, left as a voice mail:

“Thank you! This means a lot to me to know there are people who take their time to think of people like me who are going through a difficult situation. Thank you again!” Her voice sounded like she wanted to cry.
